Bill Johnson

I have been creating art for as long as I can remember.  My artwork is always evolving and changing, and I enjoy experimenting with different subject matters and styles.  I specialize mostly in landscapes and portraits.  My landscape paintings are inspired by the amazingly diverse landscapes of the Southwest where I have lived for the past 15 years or so.  I grew up in Wisconsin and moved out to Arizona when I was 23 and immediately fell in love with the deserts, cacti, mountains and all the southwest has to offer.  I currently live in Santa Fe, New Mexico.

My art is also often inspired by my love of music, particularly Blues, Jazz, and Rock and Roll.  I dabble in guitar playing on the side as well.  Many of my portrait work centers around musical artists who have inspired me.  I have had exhibits in Prescott Arizona and in Santa Fe New Mexico where I currently reside.

I have also been an art educator since 2004, teaching Kindergarten through High School at different points in my career.  I currently teach Art at Ortiz Middle School in Santa Fe.
